If you want to have some fun, go to the annual NRPA conference. This year it was in Anaheim, CA. Yep, right down the street from Disneyland. And we took advantage of it! But I digress. Why is it so fun? Because the exhibit hall is chock full of play structures, toys, and gizmos the likes you’ve never seen. Our ASAP booth was next to one of these structures. It was a play structure based on a surf theme towering what seemed like 30-odd feet above the floor. And that one was small compared to some of the others! No wonder many attendees bring their kids to the show. Product testing right there onsite for all the parks and recreation groups.
It was a great show for us. We met a long stream of people interested in how we might help them move into the 21st century. We kept to our focus of specializing in classes, camps and after school programs, and confirmed there is definitely a need right now to help organizations still using ActiveNetwork’s RecWare Safari and Class software to run their parks and recreation programs. Sunsetting of those products means a forced move to a new system. And we hope, of course, that’s when they realize how much better ASAP is! The next few months will be spent following up and learning more about specific needs from all our prospective customers. Just the kind of work we love as we look forward to the 2013 NRPA show in Houston.
