One of our goals at ASAP is to make the online registration process as easy as possible for your customers. We believe the only time you should hear from a student or parent is when they call to tell you how happy they are and not to ask for help signing up for a class or paying a bill.

With that goal in mind, I’m pleased to announce the launch of a completely redesigned and rebuilt ASAP online registration site. The new design is based on years of feedback from our clients and can be summed up in the following four statements:

It’s mobile friendly.

The new site was built from the ground up to look great and load quickly on a phone or tablet. Here’s the new class details page on an iPhone:

It’s user friendly.

Our goal was to make the new site as easy to use as possible. A few of the changes we made include:

  • Reducing the number of clicks required to complete a task wherever possible.
  • Displaying information more clearly, particularly on the class detail page, and on the account and payment pages.
  • Replacing small text links with large buttons to make it easier to complete tasks.
  • Adding filters to the top of the listings pages to let students find only classes taking place at a particular day or time of day, or for a particular age group:

It’s faster.

It’s easily the most technologically-advanced online registration site anyone has ever built, utilizing the latest in coding technology such as SignalR, which makes it possible to update the number of available slots for a class that a student sees in real-time, without the student having to reload the page.

It’s more stable.

Because we built the new site from scratch we were able to throw out a lot of old, unnecessary code. The result is that the new site can handle 10 times the number of simultaneous users without any problems occurring.

When will we switch you over to the new site?

We will be moving clients over to the new site beginning now and concluding sometime around March of next year. You will be notified before your site is switched over and you’ll have time to preview it before the switch is made.

The reason for the long roll-out is that we’re still adding functionality to the new site. For example, we haven’t completed the membership pages yet, so we can’t move anyone who uses memberships over to the new site at this time.

Will the new site look just like your current ASAP site?

We’ll be applying your colors, fonts, and logo to the new site, just like we did when we built your current site. However, your new site will probably look a little different than the one you have now. The good news is the new site will be a much better experience for your customers, and any changes in the design shouldn’t be that dramatic.

If you have an ASAP SiteWrap then the differences will be even more minimal.

We’re very excited for you to get your hands on the new site. We think it will noticeably reduce the number of requests for help you currently receive from your customers, freeing you up to focus on more important things.
