ASA Marks 30th Anniversary

By |August 27th, 2012|

Thirty years. 30 years! Jeez. I can hardly believe it has been that long since ASA was founded by my father-in-law. In that time, ASA has come full circle, from selling hardware and software to California School Districts to offering a proprietary student information system to the California Adult Education and ROC/P organizations. Today, our newest ASAP platform is used nationwide by organizations both big and small to manage their classes, events and after school programs. This entire time, ASA has remained focused on its core mission. Offering a community a full complement of registration and class management services designed to serve adult and community education, parks and recreation, arts […]

Forty Charleston SC Schools Join ASAP

By |August 23rd, 2012|

After school programs are often run by small organizations around town. Non-profits, YMCAs, schools, PTAs, you name it, all chip in to help keep kids entertained and learning both before and after school. Recently I talked about our new ASAP After-School module we just released. I’m proud to say that one of those organizations, and a large one at that, will be using it to manage their entire program. Over 3,500 students (and growing) utilize the […]

We Heart After-School Programs

By |August 16th, 2012|

Last night (likely in the wee hours of the morning), our team deployed the newest module into the ASAP system: Afterschool Programs. This new feature-set was designed specifically to meet the unique requirements of Afterschool providers, adding yet another tool for leaders and educators to effectively deliver high-quality learning experiences to their communities.

And while there is almost always a lot of passion and excitement when we deliver new features to our users, this particular module held a special place in the hearts of our entire team. As a family-oriented (as well as owned and operated) business, we have a wide-range of experience and respect for afterschool and out-of-school organizations and […]

Technology: Does it really have to keep getting more complex?

By |August 1st, 2012|

These days, there is a new must have gadget released practically every month. The new iPad (and yes, I bought one… make that two), the new phone, new computer, new television. But look at these devices. You never just plug it in and start using it. There is always the need to sync with this, merge with that, download those, buy these. And if you want to change the screen background, click ten times and maybe, just maybe you’ll get to where you wanted to be. But then the phone rings and you lost your place.

Gadgets keep getting harder to use and more complex. Granted, they do more. But seriously, […]
