ASAP Events Revisited

By |June 24th, 2015|

Hey there everyone, my name is Eric. As some of you may already know, I am your dedicated “Events” guy, charged with improving this side of the product and making ASAP that much easier for our users. We’ve been rethinking Events and just released an update with several improvements I want to call your attention to.

Some of the features we’ve recently added originated as client suggestions, while other ideas evolved as developers and I redesigned the look and layout of your screen. Let’s check out some of the changes.

One of our most recent improvements is a redesign of our Event Detail page. You’ll notice a few things have been […]

Improvements to Recurring Billing

By |March 2nd, 2015|

ASAP’s recurring billing feature gives you the ability to you offer your students various ongoing payment options (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) when registering for a class.

While one of our more popular features, we’ve received feedback that we don’t make the fact that a class is set up for recurring billing (or what the specific terms of the billing will be) clear enough to the student when they’re registering for the class.

With this in mind we set about to clarify what the student sees on your online registration site as best we can. The following is a summary of the changes that we’ll be adding to the site this Wednesday (March […]

New Feature: Switching Private Lesson Instructors

By |January 30th, 2015|

So an instructor called this morning to say they need to take the final three weeks of the year off due to a family emergency. Or, you got a call from a student and they would like to switch to a different instructor for the remainder of the semester.

In the past you had to drop these students from their lessons and re-enroll them with a new instructor, meaning that switching instructors was possible but not as easy as it should be. Well today we’re making it a whole lot easier.

There are actually two ways to switch instructors now. Both of them can be done from the student’s private lesson detail […]

New feature: Redesigned registration forms

By |July 10th, 2014|

For the past several months we’ve been working on a number of improvements to your student registration forms (the ones your student’s complete when registering for a class or creating a new account), and tonight we’re making them available to your customers. Here’s what you need to know:

What are the improvements?

The biggest improvement (for those of you who offer classes to children) is that the new forms allow us to make a parent the primary account holder for a child’s account, rather than the child being the primary account holder as is currently the case.

You’ll now be able to search for a parent’s name via student search (just check the new Show Parents […]

New in ASAP: Real Prerequisites!

By |June 19th, 2014|

Many of you offer courses that have prerequisites (“In order to take Advanced Photography you must first take Intro to Photography”). You’ve always been able to enter prerequisite information for a course into ASAP, but that info didn’t actually prevent someone from enrolling in the course; all it did was inform the student that the prerequisite needed to be met.

Today we’re pleased to announce a number of improvements to our prerequisites feature, the most important one being that when a student tries to enroll in a course, if that student has not yet completed the prerequisite for that course, ASAP will now remove that course from the student’s shopping cart and inform […]

A new, (much) faster way to accept payments.

By |May 22nd, 2014|

Say a student comes into your office (or calls on the phone) and wants to pay off their balance. Easy right? Well until now you had to search for the student, navigate to their student page, find the right invoice (or invoices), navigate to the payment page… that’s too many steps to complete a task you might have to perform several times a day.

Today we’re happy to announce that we’ve greatly streamlined the process of accepting payments. All you have to do is search for the student, and if the student has a balance due you’ll see it right there under their name:

To accept a payment, just click the “pay […]

Upcoming in ASAP: Lesson Packages

By |March 11th, 2014|

Today, we’re proud to introduce Lesson Packages. This is a new feature just entering beta mode in our Private Lessons module. The basic elements of the Lesson Packages — how they work and how they’re managed — are outlined here on the ASAP Support site. So let’s take a look at how they can benefit your organization.
First, what are Lesson Packages?
Let’s imagine that Samantha, a customer, wants to purchase eight private dance lessons for the upcoming school term. She doesn’t know the details of the lessons yet. But she wants to make the payment and the commitment today. Now, with Lesson Packages, she can do this. By going online to […]

New in ASAP: The Redesigned Events Page

By |February 10th, 2014|

Everyone loves events. Whether they’re seasonal parties or educational talks, events are community experiences. So, this winter, ASAP gave our Events page a serious upgrade, which we’re pleased to introduce today. Our new Events page is faster, sleeker and better than ever.

Here’s how it looks:

So, what’s the difference?

First, the page loads faster! We’ve made an effort to deliver a speedy and extra reliable page, and it’s finally out.

Second, we’ve redesigned the user interface, providing a simpler user experience.
To do this, we divided the page into four basic sections, which are detailed below:

1) Event information is at the top, which includes the event name, event code, schedule, location, capacity and settings […]

New in ASAP: The Redesigned User Account Page

By |January 29th, 2014|

Your customers have always been able to login to their ASAP accounts and view their enrollments, billing history, etc. However, until now the user account page was a little difficult to navigate and it was slower than we wanted it to be.

Several months ago we decided that we could do better, and today we’re proud to unveil our newly redesigned user account page. The first thing you’ll notice is how much less clutter there is on the new page, which makes it easier to see which classes you’re enrolled in. We’re also displaying each family member’s schedule together on the same page now (thanks for that suggestion Susanna!).

In addition we’ve […]
